ABOUT BRYAN SCHNEIDER
Principal and Founder
Bryan has achieved results as a higher education communications and marketing leader for over 20 years. More recently he's helped several educational technology companies and higher ed consultancies supercharge their communications to increase engagement and revenue.

Prior to founding Port5, Bryan was Director of Communications for the College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of California, Riverside, where he built a robust communications and marketing program that helped raise the visibility of the College and University. Among his many achievements-- leading a redesign of the College's website to turn it into a search-engine-optimized, content-rich, promotional engine. He also overhauled student recruitment and key fundraising materials to upgrade the design, streamline updates, and integrate more effectively with digital channels.

Bryan's other roles include leading communications for the esteemed Claremont Colleges in Southern California, as Managing Director of Marketing and Communications, and Editor of the college magazine and newsletter at Claremont McKenna College (CMC). He was also Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications for Media Relations and edited the university magazine at Claremont Graduate University.

Prior to CMC, he was Marketing and Web Director at the University of Southern California (USC) Health Sciences campus, where he directed award-winning marketing projects and web development for the Keck Medical Center, Keck School of Medicine, Keck Hospital and USC Norris Cancer Hospital. His efforts led to eye-popping increases in web traffic and a jump in patient referrals from the web.

Bryan also served as Public Communications Manager for the USC Annenberg Center for Communication and began his career as a fundraising prospect researcher, grant writer, and freelance writer.

Bryan has received dozens of awards for his writing, editing, marketing campaigns, ads, newsletters, magazines, websites, and print collateral, including the PRism Award of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America; a Regional Gold Award, Pinnacle Awards, American Marketing Association; several CASE Circle of Excellence awards from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, an Aster Award for excellence in medical marketing, several APEX publications awards, Telly Awards for video, and over a dozen Healthcare Advertising Awards.
